• Satin keepsake box, brown (available at department stores)
• Enameled cardboard CD storage box, brown
• Other Supplies:
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Lint free cloth
  • Tracing paper, pencil, and transfer paper

1. Wipe the CD box with rubbing alcohol and the cloth.
2. Trace and transfer the patterns.
3. Paint the satin box with FolkArt® Acrylic colors, and paint the CD box with Enamels™. The colors have the same names, but different formulations to make them suitable for these very different surfaces.

1. Load the #10 flat brush with Fresh Foliage. Using the flat side of the brush, paint the leaves. Pull stems into the leaves using the chisel edge of the brush.
2. Load the #2 script liner with Inca Gold Metallic. Paint some accents on the leaves.
3. Load the #8 flat brush with Fresh Foliage. Using the chisel edge of the brush, paint the ferns. Apply more pressure to paint the wider ferns.

Leaves & Ferns (Satin Box Sides):

1. Load the #2 script liner with inky Fresh Foliage. Paint the vines and scrolls.
2. Load the #6 flat brush with Fresh Foliage. Using the flat side of the brush, paint the leaves.
3. Using the same brush and colors, paint the ferns. Use the chisel edge and apply more pressure for the wider ferns.

Leaves & Ferns (CD Box):

Use Enamels™. Refer to the Mini Leaf Painting Worksheet for techniques, but use the brushes and colors listed here.

1. Load the #10 flat brush with Fresh Foliage. Using the flat side of the brush, paint some one stroke leaves.
2. Load the #2 flat brush with Fresh Foliage. Using the flat side of the brush, paint additional one stroke leaves.
3. Load the #2 script liner with Fresh Foliage. Pull stems into each leaf.
4. Load the #8 flat brush with Fresh Foliage. Paint the ferns. Use the chisel edge and apply more pressure for the wider ferns.

Dragonfly:

Refer to the Roses & Dragonfly Painting Worksheet, but use the brushes and colors listed here.

1. Load the #8 flat brush with Wicker White. Using the chisel edge of the brush, paint the wings.
2. Load the #2 flat brush with Inca Gold Metallic. Using the chisel edge of the brush, paint the body.
3. Load the #2 script liner with Inca Gold Metallic. Paint the tail and antennae.

Butterfly:

Use FolkArt® Acrylic Colors.

1. Load the #2 flat brush with Wicker White. Using the flat side of the brush, paint the wings.
2. Load the #2 script liner with Inca Gold Metallic. Paint the body and antennae Finish:
3. Allow the acrylic paint on the satin box to dry overnight.
4.  Allow the Enamels™ paint on the CD box to dry and air cure for 21 days before light dusting.

 Finish:

1. Allow the acrylic paint on the satin box to dry overnight.
2.  Allow the Enamels™ paint on the CD box to dry and air cure for 21 days before light dusting.
