Supplies:

• FolkArt® Outdoor™ Acrylic Paint:
• Cobalt 1631
• Fresh Foliage 1625
• Fresh Foliage Dimensional 359
• Midnight 1630
• Thicket 1628
• Wicker White 1610
• ONE Stroke™ Brushes: Flat: #6, #12, 3/4"
• Black vertical mailbox (10-1/2" x 9" x 3")
• Tracing paper
• Transfer paper
• Pencil
• Rubbing alcohol
• Lint free cloth

1.  Wipe the surface with the cloth and rubbing alcohol.
2. Trace and transfer the pattern.

Painting  the Main Rose & One Partial Rose:
Refer to the Rose & Butterflies Painting Worksheet.

1. Double load the 3/4" flat brush with Cobalt and Wicker White. Add a touch of Midnight to the Cobalt side. Using the flat side of the brush with the Wicker White to the outer edge, paint the outer skirt and the inner skirt for the main rose.
   
2. Using the same brush and colors but staying mainly on the chisel edge, paint the center bud, then paint the chisel edge strokes.
   
3. Using the same brush, colors and procedure, paint the partial rose located on the right side of the design. Paint only the portion of the rose that will not be covered by the leaves.

Painting the Large Leaves:

Refer to the Leaf Painting Worksheet.

1. Load the 3/4" flat brush with Fresh Foliage. Sideload with a touch of Thicket. Using the flat side of the brush and keeping the Fresh Foliage to the outer edge, paint the large wiggle/slide leaves.
   
2. Pull a stem into each leaf by using the chisel edge of the brush and leading with the Fresh Foliage.

Left Partial Rose & Bud:

Refer to the Rose & Butterflies Painting Worksheet.

1. Double load the 3/4" flat brush with Cobalt and Wicker White. Add a touch of Midnight to the Cobalt side.
   
2. Using the same procedure used for the partial rose located on the right side, paint the partial rose located on the left side of the design, then paint the smaller bud.

One Stroke Leaves:

Refer to the Leaf Painting Worksheet, but use the colors and brushes listed here.

1. Load the 3/4" flat brush with Fresh Foliage. Sideload with a touch of Thicket. Using the flat side of the brush, paint the large one stroke leaves.
   
2. Pull a stem into each leaf, using the chisel edge and leading with the Fresh Foliage.
   
3. Load the #12 flat brush with Fresh Foliage, then sideload with a touch of Thicket. Using the flat side of the brush, paint the small green one stroke leaves.
   
4. Double load the #12 flat brush with Cobalt and Wicker White. Add a touch of Midnight to the Cobalt side. Using the flat side of the brush, paint the small blue one stroke leaves.
   
5. Using the same brush and colors, pull a stem into each blue leaf, using the chisel edge and leading with the Wicker White.

Painting the plaid design:

1. Load the 3/4" flat brush with Cobalt and Wicker White. Add a touch of Midnight to the Cobalt side. Using the flat side of the brush, paint the wide stripes.
   
2. Load the #6 flat brush with Fresh Foliage. Using the flat side of the brush, paint the thin stripes.
   
3. Using the bottle tip of Fresh Foliage Dimensional, add a wiggly line on top of the thin stripes. 

Dimensional Details:

1. Using the bottle tip of Fresh Foliage Dimensional, embellish the design with small scroll leaves. Squeeze out a teardrop of paint to make the thicker end of the leaf, then pull quickly back toward the design to create the dotted effect.
   
2. Using the bottle tip of Fresh Foliage Dimensional, outline some of the large wiggle/slide leaves.
