The features that first drew me to this machine are it's size and portability. i actually wanted a machine for work and vacation. we're always sewing hems and touching up our clothes here at the office. also, it's just so convenient NOT to have to take out the big machine all the time just for little projects. i read the reviews but ordered anyway.
A word to Singer...if this machine had been more durable i actually would have paid another $20. i may have even ordered another for home as a little spare.
it's size is perfect! it's adorable!!! i could have tucked it away or carried it with me on vacation. BUT, I tried it and you can tell the foot pedal will fall apart quickly.That part is very cheaply made. i read about issues with the bobbin and unfortunately, it's going back. if they put a little more quality into it...wow what a cute machine to have as a spare for small projects or on the go. SINGER dropped the ball on this one. i'm so disappointed to have to send it back.

I wanted a small machine for touch ups and mending. There was a less expensive machine, but I figured I'd buy the $60 one, that it would have to be better than the $30 machine. I WAS WRONG! Jam after jam after jam, and never completed my first project. I can't believe Singer would put their name on such a product. Very disappointed with Singer and with HSN. HSN, look at the reviews and pull the products that are not worthy.

The product is manufactured incorrectly. The part that hold the needle was installed sideways and causes the sewing machine to jam. This was a chirstmas gift for my 9 year old and it is now June and she is still unable to use it.

My story is simular to the other people who purchases they for a 11 year old daughter. I thought I just happen to get a defective on the first time. They to have to pay for shipping to get another one that is also a piece of junk. They foot pedal stoped working after only 5 minutes of use. I purchased this because I thought Singer was a name you can trust. After the horrible product and poor service this is my first and last purchase from HSN. They can keep their CHEAP JUNK.........

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of this machine. Singer? No way. I got this as a gift for my granddaughter for Xmas, have sent it back and replaced it four times hoping one would work for her - how do you break a 8 year olds heart? Of course, return time has now elapsed and we are stuck with a nonfunctioning piece of junk and a credit card bill. This is my last purchase from HSN.

Singer® Pixie™ Plus: The Craft Machine Features:

Small and portable - runs on either AC power or 4 AA batteries (not included)
Automatic bobbin winder - just put thread on the spool, drop in the bobbin, start the threading and the machine takes care of the rest
Dial setting for sewing and crafting stitches - 8 settings including zigzag, rampart, straight and blind hem. You can also sew in reverse
Choice of foot pedal or auto-sewing mode - if it's not convenient to use the foot pedal, you can set the sewing speed to either H for high or L for low
Work light - concentrates light right where you need it
Notched base - lets you sew sleeves or narrow openings
Convenient carry handle - makes the machine easy to lift and move
