This is an incredible machine!. I read the other reviews regarding issues others had operating the serger. I waited almost a month after receiving the machine so that I could really read the manual and review the DVD before I tried it . I got the treading right on the second try! I have completed several projects and you can't tell the difference between my homemade and store bought. This machine is a definite must have for the avid sewer.

My husband very thoughtfully bought this for me as a gift. He bought it several weeks before giving it to me. When I opened it, I knew immediately it was far beyond my skill level. He had only remembered hearing me say I wanted a serger and thought he was doing good by buying what he thought was the best. It may be, but not for me. When we contacted HSN to exchange it for a machine more in keeping with my level of expertise, they flat out refused. The machine had never even been plugged in, let alone used. What a shame, probably go straight to ebay. We are no longer HSN customers.

I have never owned a serger or sewn on one before. I have to be honest and say that at first I was becoming VERY frustrated with the whole threading, breaking, threading, breaking thing:( Just about the time I was about to put it back in the box and say forget this, I tried one more time. I own several machines from basic stitching to very expensive embroidery machines and have never met a machine I couldn't master, WELL I have finally mastered this machine! I thought it was going to win the battle and be returned. I must say I now LOVE this machine for garments, alterations and I have made purses with it. The path for threading on the machine is clearly indicated until you get to the put the thread in the v and ..... they forget to tell you there is a lever to move that takes the thread to it's next point....

Got this serger about a month ago. First serger ever for me! At first I was overwhelmed by the threading instructions. And to be honest it took several hours to figure it out, but once I did it was actually easy! Now I am serging up a storm!!! I absolutely love this machine. Don't know how I sewed without it. My projects now look like a professional made them. I am so glad I made this investment!!!!

threading was not complicated (for me) follow the instructions and you will be fine ,but I need to add I'm in the professionall drapery sewing 15 years and I have dealt with so many sergers ...at least 10 so this one is like the others learn how to do it ( you have to play with it ) and no problems ....only thing that I have problems don't have enough time to play to change it from one stitching to the other(it takes long) I guess I need couple more and set them for one function and I will be fine....LOL...maybe after some playing it will become faster and easier.
